Balance...
Haven't been blogging for the longest time. The past month had been hell. Homesickness...school...yada yada...
Funny how much I wanted to be in this course two months ago. Now I'm struggling. One month back when I was studying, I got so stressed out and paranoid that I don't do well. That was when Mum and Dad told me to relax. Now that I've learnt to relax (going out more often etc.), I've neglected my work. Iris, fix your life, will you? Balance your studying and leisure time.
Boohoohoo!

It's Winter in Sydney.
UNSW is trying to make a fool out of me. It's making me run all over Sydney to settle my enrolment issue. More about it later. Now, I want to catch up (okay, by "catch up", I meant "rewatch") PCD. Their Live Earth performance was AMAZING. I should post up the video the next time I blog. Oh and Linkin Park and Rihanna were pretty cool in Tokyo. The Sydney one was dead boring. The USA one should've been fine. That's just about all I know. I didn't have time to catch the others due to heaps of packing for the flight back to Sydney the day after.

Global Warming - We're Not Exaggerating
Is it just me or is the weather really going crazy? It can be pouring like no one's business on one night and hot and humid likemethe Sahara Desert the day after. I didn't feel the sun in Singapore was glaring before I left for Australia (The sun in Aussie is blinding okay. Damn that ozone hole.) but now I feel like I'm visually challenged.
Who is to be blamed? Hmmm. Ahhh, yes. Global warming. Let's do a little bit of Geography.
This year, the warnings for global warming seem to be louder than ever. Even Al Gore planned media events such as Live Earth to create awareness about this problem. Dude, it's serious. Mummy Nature can't hold it any longer.
People, let's do our part by cutting down our excessive usage of resources. Oh, if one day you suddenly feel like a hero, you could probably save us and the planet by burping or farting your sexy gas into those bastards' faces who constantly emit greenhouse gases out of their ugly factories. That'll teach them how terrible it is to send out toxic gases.
From now on, I shall rise early to off my air-conditioner. My room's air-con shall stop running at 9am. *sobs discreetly* (BOOHOO! Then my room will be burning after 9am!) Oh wells, we have to Save Our Selves (S.O.S). That's the name of the group of activists. We have to stop the melting ice-bergs, the flooding in certain areas and the drying in other areas.

That aside, why do the British always have the coolest artists performing in their country? They have artists like the Black Eyed Peas, Damian Rice, Foo Fighters, James Blunt, John Legend, Madonna, The Pussycat Dolls (ARHHH!) and Red Hot Chilli Peppers all lined up in Wembley Stadium for Live Earth in England. The other countries involved in Live Earth are USA, Australia, South Africa, Japan, Germany, Brazil, China and Antarctica (amazing). Even the other countries don't have that many performers. I heard Enrique Iglesias (He's a cutie.) would be in the German one and several Chinese singers would be in the Chinese one. Many international stars are going to be stationed in each of these different countries involved and hold a concert together on 7/7/07.
Anyway, check out the official video for Live Earth. Madonna - Hey You. (Oohlala! I see the Singapore flag on one scene.)
Go to http://liveearth.msn.com/ for more information on Live Earth.
Note: I love nature but I just don't want to touch leaves, branches or insects or vice-versa. Imagine all the creepy crawlies crawling on you...Ugh. But yes, I still love Mother Nature. (:

Grrr!!!
My mood is foul right now.
UNSW's GPA for the courses they offer. I chose Medical Science.
Notice the cross beside the course code?
It means...
I've checked my University guidebook (book which contains the GPAs of courses in all the Universities in Australia) and it, too, stated that there's mid-year entry (i.e. July entry) for Medical Science. Even my provisional offer letter also said that my course would commence on 23rd July 2007.
I just received my official offer letter from UNSW.
3rd March 2008! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! I've got nothing but a chain of rude words in my head right now.
Okay, I shall try to rationalise. There are 2 possible reasons as to why there isn't any mid-year entry for my course.
1) There aren't enough students wanting to enroll (for mid-year entry) into Medical Science. And how smart of them to disallow local students from enrolling into the mid-year entry for Medical Science.
2) Although my GPA qualifies me into the course, it still isn't as high as those who wants the course now. Rights, not a valid reason.
I'm going to call and ask my agent for help tomorrow. I have a feeling she would advise me to enter University of Sydney. I'm not fussing that Uni of Sydney is a bad school. It's not. In fact, it's better than UNSW. GPA for the same course is 7.9 while it's 7.5 in UNSW. But the thought of re-adapting sucks. I'd have to move to a new place (don't even know if the place would be good or not), familiarise the map of the new location and I'm telling you, my sense of direction is as blind as...as...whatever, you get the drift. Enrolling is another problem. Bah!
Seriously, I feel that Medical Science is not worth the wait. Courses with no mid-year entry such as Medicine and Psychology is alright. I mean, they are elite courses so waiting till March is fine. I can't get into Medicine so worse come to worst, I might wait till March for Psychology. Sighs. My planned route was to complete my Medical Science degree then do Medicine as a post-graduate student for the next 3 to 4 years if I'm still interested. That is provided if I do very well and if I pass the UMAT test and get through the interview.
Dunno why am I always having such luck. Oh Lord, please save me. Please make UNSW realise their mistake of not having mid-year entries. While You are at it, please give them a gentle knock on their heads. Thank You, Lord.
